Good Shepherd Parish CMO Elects Visionary Leaders in Seamless Transition
-By Ruben Mario Brodrick
Mr. Oiboh Frederick has been elected as the new Chairman of the Catholic Men Organisation (CMO) of Good Shepherd Catholic Church Evbuabogun in Benin City Deanery, emerging from a recent, commendably seamless electoral exercise.
Prior to the election, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Patrick Onojake, addressed the men during Holy Mass, setting a spiritual tone for the day.
The electoral process, praised for its “peaceful and transparent” nature, was meticulously overseen by a high-powered CMO delegation from the Benin City Deanery, led by President Mr. Matthew Esele.
The team included Mr. Igbinobaro Samson, Mr. John Otori, Mr. Kadiri Bernard, and Mr. Christopher Opia, who served as diligent election umpires.
Other newly elected officers who will guide the CMO’s affairs include: Mr. Nnadi Onwuegbu: Vice Chairman, Mr. Jite Ogonor: General Secretary, Mr. Marvelous Osawaru: Assistant General Secretary and Mr. Theophelous Okhe: Treasurer.
Also elected are Mr. Ohis Ejeomon: Financial Secretary, Mr. Izogie Osakpanwan: Welfare Officer, Mr. Stephen Imhaure: Public Relations Officer and Mr. James Chiedozie: Provost
In his acceptance of call to service, the new CMO Chairman, Fredrick Oiboh underscored the importance of readily answering God’s call to service, irrespective of one’s personal status.
“When God calls you to work for him, you must surely answer his call to service no matter who you are or where you are,” Oiboh declared.
“I humbly accept this work and call of God and I humbly accept to serve you all.”
Oiboh candidly admitted to an initial hesitation but expressed renewed confidence, buoyed by the “enviable platform” laid by his predecessor, Engr. Aigbona Aigbovu KSM.
He anticipates learning greatly from Engr. Aigbovu’s “coaching & mentorship” and highlighted his happiness in having the full support of the CMO.
The new chairman appealed for greater inclusivity and collaborative support to achieve his administration’s goals, stating, “I humbly ask for your assistance, support, and cooperation to serve you. I am here to learn, I am here to serve; please pray for us the new Executive.”
The Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Patrick Onojake who earlier admonished the Officers to be elected on the need for the display of service and dedication, during the Holy Mass before the election called on them to embrace their new roles with dedication, humility, and a profound sense of responsibility, emphasizing the spiritual significance of serving God and the Church.
Onojake stressed further the importance of unity, commitment, and selflessness in the new leadership capacities of those to be elected, while encouraging them to consistently seek God’s guidance for the growth and spiritual well-being of both the organization and the wider parish community.
The leadership and members of the Deanery Team were also commended for ensuring such a peaceful and transparent election process.
