Blessing of Grotto of Our Lady OF Perpetual Help Donated By Dr Charles Eguavoen in St Michael Catholic Church

The Catholic community of Abuedo quarters in Ubulu-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State was agog on Saturday 7th June 2025 as parishioners and visitors witnessed the commissioning and blessing to the Marian Grotto of Our Lady Mother Of Perpetual Help donated by Dr Charles Eguavoen. The event started with a Holy Mass at 12 noon which had the Vicar General Very Rev Fr Peter Mobogwu who represented the Catholic Bishop of Issele-Uku Diocese as the Chief Celebrant, Cocelebrated by other priests, Rev Fr Kingsley Ajufo (Parish Priest), Rev Fr Peter Obi-Laz, Very Rev Fr Dr Peter Mokwunye (Principal of St Patrick College Asaba), Very Rev Fr Samuel Igwewanne, Rev Fr Alfred Anthony Okolie, Rev Fr Peter Enuanwa, Rev Fr Peter Omezi, Rev Fr Hilary Okoye, Rev Fr Dennis Onochie, Rev Fr Franklin Odiaka, Rev Fr Vincent Agholor, Very Rev Fr Henry Ogonwa, Rev Fr Peter Chukwurah and others. The mass also had the birthday celebration thanksgiving of Dr Charles Eguavoen as it coincided with his birthday. During the homily the Assistant Parish Priest Fr Obi-Laz explained the importance of birthday celebrations and also thanked the donor for the gift to the church in promoting evangelization.
The Vicar General, Very Fr Peter Mobogwu, blessed the grotto in the presence of parishioners and visitors. There was also refreshments for everyone present and cutting of birthday cake by the celebrant.
